The best way to overcome web 2.0 challenges is to make a use of 'settings' and 'help'. These two funactinalities are like a mouth of the respective tool or platform.

I also think that some challenges can be surmounted through constant practice and discovery. I have met a number of barriers when using technology and i constantly push myself until i find solution.
But as you rightly pointed out the Help section is hardly visited buy many users of technology but it is one of the most important parts of any site. All the FAQ will find their answers in help section.
